One of the cornerstones of nanotechnology comes from nature.
All around us there is nanotechnology beyond your wildest imagination busy at work. Cells are mutating and replicating, blood is carrying oxygen, white blood cells are fighting infection, fireworks in your brain through synapses are igniting a thousand images conjured from each word you read in this line. Nature is abundant with hope, guidance and glory.

It is true that we can look at nature and say; well it must be capable for us to achieve this level of precision, for it has been done before. But I will not talk about a creator.

Enquiry has plagued man since forever, and forever we have built on the knowledge gained from those before us who worked through trial and error, pain and suffering to bring us where we are now. Imagine a world with no pain killer, no anesthetic, where the brevity of the operation is your only relief!

Now with modern techniques we can image the inside of the body without entering it through electromagnetic waves. X-rays, MRI, there is a wide range of medical imagine techniques that use un-abtrusive methods.

Yet still we are at our very infancy in comparison to what can be done still. Nanotechnology can help us to increase the precision to which we can image the body.

Also, the workings of the body are intricate and delicate to say the least. What is known is that the foundations of who we are and how our body works transpires through the work of proteins. These proteins in turn are governed and created by DNA that resides in the nucleus of each and every cell of the body. In turn each and every single human, animal and plant there exists a unique DNA sequence that describes exactly that individual. DNA is the blueprint of life, proteins the foundation and building blocks. Enzymes play a role to carry out work from instructions transcribed in the DNA.

These protiens and Enzymes are almost like little robots, some of which have operating and moving parts that sit in the nano size scale.
So work on nanotechnology can help us with work in Biochemistry also.
